I offer a complete service for small-medium sized gardens, including design work, construction, renovation of overgrown gardens, and regular maintenance tailored to your needs and preferences. Free estimates, call text or email me to find out more.
I am experienced in grounds management, including use of garden machinery, pool maintenance, and working in public areas. I can provide regular help, or undertake seasonal tasks in ornamental and productive gardens.
Keen to know your garden better? I can offer a consultation with you, focusing on the planting and the garden's uses and potential. As a follow-up to the visit, I will prepare an easy to follow maintenance plan to keep your garden looking its best all year round.
I began my horticultural career while working as a guide in a show cave in the Peak District - preferring to spend the time between tours gardening to the more acceptable pastime drinking tea! I then travelled around parts of Australia and Wales, learning from the farmers, smallholders and growers I met and worked alongside. A qualification in horticulture followed - RHS Level 2 - and a job working for a country house hotel with 14 acres of grounds in 2011. Between this and my private clients I was soon very busy! After taking maternity leave in 2013, I returned to the hotel and progressed to Deputy Head Gardener, eventually taking on the management of the ornamental gardens. I enjoy reading and keeping up to date with styles and changing attitudes, though as always it's through watching plants grow and change season to season, year to year, that I have learned the most.
